  • Managing Director – Russell Hogg

    Russell has over 20 years of Fire and Security Industry Experience. His skills were honed in his home City of Portsmouth in England where he completed a multidiscipline Fire & Security Apprenticeship, then went on to spend many more years working on a wide range of projects as a qualified engineer. He holds qualifications in:

    • Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
    • Fire Alarm/Detection, installation, Maintenance, Design and Commissioning.
    • Plumbing.
    • Construction Site safety management.

    Russell has been working in the NZ Fire Protection industry at a wide range of different levels now for 8 years. In this time, he has become an Independently Qualified Person (IQP) and been awarded his Producer Statement Authority. To maintain our impeccably high level of workmanship, Russell is actively involved in all aspects of the duties that we carry out. This ensures that all our works are completed to the highest standard possible. He has a real passion for training our staff and teaching them the importance of doing everything right, first time, every time.

  • Regional Manager – John (JP) Tomas

    JP is a Bachelor of Engineering Technology graduate from AUT, Major in Electrical Engineering who has been involved in the Fire Protection industry during and after successful studies.

    He has continued to build his knowledge in the many areas relating to this specialised field.

    Having successfully run operations for a competitor Fire Protection Company for the previous 4 years he has gained a substantial amount of knowledge and experience in many areas of the field in particular in Fire Alarm Contracts, Service, Design, Estimating and Compliance. John has just recently embarked on a new Career with The Fire Guys bringing his drive and leadership skills. John strives for client satisfaction and client relations. The importance of building a relationship and understanding the needs of the client comes top of the list. Combining both the knowledge he has obtained from being “on the tools” from installs/service and his people management style to provide tailored solutions and efficient project delivery for his clients.

  • Operations Manager – Animesh Panda

    In 2016, Animesh moved to New Zealand to pursue his MBA with a focus in operation and strategic management. Prior to that, he had built his career in the software industry after graduating as an Engineer. He has had the privilege to collaborate with clients from a range of industries including building safety (regulatory and compliance), pharmaceutical, life-science, retail and energy, and so on. He has recently joined the Kaizon Groups / The Fire Guys as a business professional with nearly 8 years of experience in developing solutions to achieve operational efficiency.

    Combining his wealth of experience with design thinking approach, over the years, he has furthered his ability to collaborate with various stakeholders and to solve problems in several business scenarios. He has the penchant to break down complex cross-functional business models into a series of modular processes. Thus, enabling the teams to focus and improve these simplified bit-sized procedures with relative ease.

    Animesh likes to unwind by indulging in reading and by engaging in sport, primarily, Badminton. He enjoys trying a variety of cuisines and is looking forward to travelling the world with his wife, Sowmya.

  • Finance Manager – Jackie Pharo

    Jackie has over 16 years of experience in Finance, obtained within large and/or multinational organisations. Her experience ranges from transactional level accounting through to financial controlling, people leadership and Strategy in a variety of industries including Freight, Contract Logistics and Distribution.

    Jackie sees herself as naturally curious and has a keen interest in the commercial aspects of business, beyond just finance. This should stand her in good stead as she embarks on her new journey in New Zealand and at The Fire Guys.

    For fun, Jackie spends time with her partner and son exploring New Zealand. She also enjoys board games, logic puzzles and anything competitive.

  • Administration Manager – Hannah Preston

    Hannah joined our team in 2020 as office administrator, she keeps busy with a wide range of administrative tasks including finance, administration, and resourcing. Hannah enjoys her role in the business and has now started studying for her Bachelor of Business (Accountancy).

    Since joining the Kaizon and Fire Guys team in her supporting role to the business, Hannah has shown her ability to quickly grasp business structures and has further developed a number of administrative systems which have provided improved efficiencies in project control and reporting.

    Hannah is very much a people person enjoying travelling, playing sports, and baking delicious treats with friends and family.
